Contradictions for Leech Therapy:
There is not to many, however we do not apply leeches if:
Hemophilia, Leukemia, Hypotension, Pregnancy, individuals with HIV-infection, with gastrointestinal bleeding, while in chemotherapy, children under 10 years old*
If Anticoagulant Medications, and/or Gingko Biloba products are in use, the intake of such should be temporarily stopped 4-7 days before the leech therapy begins. Consult your hirudotherapist about any other concerns or questions.
